I found out about this Pet Fest at the very last minute; but that didn’t stop me from scoping it out. Any opportunity to be in the presence of pet lovers and their companions is utterly fantastic, especially in the city of Montreal. This annual outdoor event brings together pet businesses, animal rescue groups, and of course pets of all sorts, including cats and rabbits. Naturally, I had to bring Shelby along for the fun. A bit overwhelming for her at first, but she quickly got accustomed to the brouhaha and the constant butt-sniffing from other dogs. There were contests, games, and even a parade for the furry fashionistas. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon spent with some interesting characters from the four-legged as well as the two-legged variety. We sure do love our pets!

Princess, a rescued Greyhound, was prim and proper. These amazing animals have incredibly muscular hind legs.

This is 10-year old Opi in her bear hat.

Dream, another Greyhound rescue, giving me a big smile. She's got lots to smile about.

Poppy saying hello to Shelby. He was a real ladies-man!

Molly the Australian sheep dog.

Poppy the Schnoodle.

Poppy had the most adorable outfit.

Two Great Pyrenees and one Great Pyrenees-Lab mix (he's the one in the middle).

Poppy making his mark in style.

Little Shelby in a stroller.

This old gal was trying to get some rest.

I was told this Great Dane wins for "biggest dog" every year. At 180 lbs is it any wonder?

Oscar just can't believe what he's seeing!

Opi, the long-haired Chihuahua, in a regal pose.

Opi won for best costume. What a gorgeous gal!
